The
Cooperative of the Maritime Power Professionals (COOMAR) has a highly
qualified staff that holds a great deal of expertise in inspecting
and supervising crafts, including those operating offshore.
To better prepare crafts for inspections carried out by Harbor Masters
and Harbor Master Offices Authorities under the Directorate of Harbors
and Coasts (DPC), COOMAR performs a previous inspection
where "non-compliances" with the Brazilian
Maritime Authority and International Conventions' regulations are
pointed out. These previous surveys can be of two kinds:
-
Port State Control: for ships of any flag which are constantly
visiting foreign ports;
- for obtaining the Certificate of Temporary Registry (AIT)
: for foreign crafts, including platforms, that may come to operate
on Brazilian jurisdictional waters;
