The Cooperative of Maritime Power Professionals is composed of individuals whose academic background is directly or indirectly related to the sea and inland waters as well as coastal areas.

COOMAR , while defending the commercial interests and the welfare of its cooperators, concentrates professionals involved in activities such as project management, consultancy, administration and organization and and has as objectives:
- To organize and provide training, lessons, courses, seminars, lectures and instruction, especially in the area of Professional Maritime Education. (EPM);
- To render consultancy and services of administration of documents, brokerage and maritime legislation;
- To operate, administer and manage enterprises in maritime, harbor and airport areas;
- To undertake specific technical studies and collaborate with researches on policies intended to develop National Naval Power;
- To provide youth with training and education in the art and science of sailing and to disseminate updated knowledge on the art of sailing, nautical sciences and the like;
- To promote and contribute to the realization of social and cultural events designed to young people as to arouse in them interest in sea traditions and and sea-related careers;

COOMAR possesses, as cooperators, teachers from several colleges, naval organizations and instruction centers, with MBA degrees from national and international institutions, ship/platform auditors and specialists in the areas of Naval Engineering, Aerospace, Electronics, Mechanics, Electrics, Naval Sciences, Hydrography, Cartography, Nautical Signaling, Oceanography, Meteorology, Finances, Budgets, Auditing, Project Management and Certification, Environment, Computer Science, Logistics, Cataloguing and Administration.

The following are areas of involvement of the Cooperative: Human Resources, Social Sciences, Exact Sciences, Administration, Computer Science and Electronic/Mechanical systems, Project Management, Technical Consultancy and the execution of specialized activities.

COOMAR provides services troughout the country in any area of Engineering, chiefly:: Mechanic, Civil, Naval, Electronic, Electric, Chemical , Communication , Operation as well as in Architecture, Hydrography, Cartography, Nautical Signaling, Oceanography and Meteorology.
